Five Questions to Ask Before Hiring a Junk Removal Company
Two quotes for “a garage cleanout” can cover different work. One crew might be pricing the pile by the door. The other might be pricing everything along the back wall, plus the freezer. Ask both companies to quote the same job before you compare the totals.
1. Which items and rooms are included?
Send the same photos and list to each company. Call out attached shelving, unusually heavy items and any rooms missing from the photos. Ask whether the quote includes carrying the items out from where they are.
2. How will the price be confirmed?
Ask which details could change the price, such as extra items, a long carry or a material that needs a different disposal route. Get the agreed scope and price before loading starts.
3. Can the crew work with this access?
Mention stairs, parking, elevators, gates and building pickup rules. Ask how the company will handle the awkward piece you’re most worried about and whether the job calls for special equipment.
4. What happens to items that need special handling?
Ask what the crew accepts and what you need to arrange separately. If donation is a priority, ask how the company decides whether an item has an available destination.
5. Is the appointment window confirmed?
Give the actual deadline and ask for a time that works with your building or move. If you’d like Garbage Kings to review the job, send photos and request a quote.
